How often should you get a termite inspection?

Recommendations vary, but a general rule suggests an inspection every 2 to 5 years.

Some homeowners have a yearly inspection performed by a service on an annual contract. These inspections are often performed under a warranty-- however, this can mean that the service provider has no interest in finding any pest damage and will not provide the best inspection.

If you are a client and would like to request an inspection, please send an email to info@cornerstonepm.net. Most inspections cost between $200 to $350. Pricing varies based on the size of the home, attached decks, crawlspaces, etc.

For more information regarding pest/fungus/dryrot inspections please visit the California Structural Pest Control Board's website at:

City of San Jose Garbage Rate Increase

San Jose City Council will hold a public hearing regarding the rate increases of Recycle Plus and sewer drain services. The hearing is set for Tuesday June 14th and will propose the rate increase due to the rising cost in diesel fuel, vehicle maintenance etc.

Combined with the new requirement for owners of rental property to keep garbage service in their name, this is sure to cause some additional confusion.

The proposed new rates can be found at: http://www.sjrecycles.org/residents/pdf/Garbage-Recycling_SFD_MaximumProposedRates_FY2011-12.pdf
